Jonathan G. Williams, MD joined Retina Consultants of Southern Colorado in 2000. He graduated with honors from both the University of Iowa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and DePaul University with a Master’s Degree in Music. He graduated from Medical School at the University of Illinois at Chicago as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He then completed an ophthalmology residency at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, and a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Associated Retinal Consultants in Royal Oak, Michigan. His research interests have included diabetic retinopathy, ocular trauma, and retinal metabolism. He has published in peer-review ophthalmologic journals and has presented research at international medical symposia.
Dr. Williams specializes in all facets of retinal and vitreous pathology including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, uveitis, epiretinal membrane, macular hole, retinal detachment, and ocular trauma.
Dr. Williams is board certified in Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Wilderness Medical Society, Colorado Medical Society, and El Paso County Medical Society.
Dr. Williams joined Retina Consultants of Southern Colorado on August 1, 2000 and has retired on August 1, 2019!
